The Art Gallery at The Wine Place features the work of local talented artists: Anne Roth, Jim King, Anita Sue Andrews, Ginger Gouviea, Tana Hagen, Karen Hendrickson, Bari McLean, Senitila McKinley, Seanette Smith, Joy Baldwin, Brett Flanigan, Beth Bailey, Alice LaFond, Richard LaFond, Angi Sanderson, Sue Hutchins, Dennis Salon and Jane McCarthy. There is an artist on duty in the gallery.
WINE & BEER TASTINGS:
In addition to the wine tastings with special guests listed below, The Wine Place is a satellite tasting room for J. Scott Cellars. On open days other than Saturday, tasting is offered with the $5 tasting fee refundable with any J. Scott Cellars purchase.
Fri., May 4, 4-7 PM Beer Tasting: Maui Brewing. Taste handcrafted ales and lagers, brewed with aloha. Maui Brewing Company was started in 2005, and is the island's only microbrewery.
Sat., May 5, 1–4 PM J. Scott Cellars. Winemaker Jonathan Scott Oberlander of Eugene will be upstairs in his loft tasting room. J. Scott Cellars is a small, boutique-style winery, featuring finely made wines of the Pacific Northwest.
Fri., May 11, 4-7 PM Beer Tasting: Great Divide Brewing. In 1994, Brian Dunn began brewing Great Divide beers in Denver, Colorado. One of America's most decorated microbreweries, Great Divide has become synonymous with progressive, balanced and assertive hand-crafted ales.
Sat., May 12, 1-4 PM Dylan's Run Vineyard. Dylan's Run is a small, family-owned vineyard in the foothills of southwest Eugene. Their first vintage was 2003. Meet Teresa Soler and Brant Dutton and enjoy tastes of Pinot Noir, dessert wine made of Muller-Thurgau, and their newest addition, Teresa's Rose.
Fri., May 18, 4-7 PM Beer Tasting: Beer Sale! Enjoy a random sampling of beers on sale, and try one new mystery beer.
Sat., May 19, Noon - 5 PM Happy 8th Anniversary! This day marks eight years since opening the doors of Gourmet Lady/The Wine Place. Join shop owner Carrie Yano for a toast of bubbly, and a tasting of some of her favorite wines. Yano thanks and credits the many loyal customers from Yachats, the Oregon coast, and those even farther away, for the success of The Wine Place/Gourmet Lady.
Fri., May 25, 4-7 PM Beer Tasting: Anthem Cider. Anthem Cider is made by Wandering Aengus Ciderworks in Salem, Oregon. Anthem is true cider: only whole apples pressed, fermented the fresh juice only days after. This is your chance to learn all about cider, and sample Anthem Cider, Anthem Pear, Anthem Cherry, and Anthem Hops.
Sat., May 26, 1-4 PM Wine Tasting: Organic Wines. Enjoy organic international wines with special guest Ernie Denogeon of Eugene. Denogeon is a favorite guest at The Wine Place, and works for Mountain People's, a distributor of organic and sulfite-free wines.
Sun., May 27, 1-4 PM Wine Tasting: Italian Wines. Meet Aaron Coe of Casa Bruno Wines. Coe has spent much of his career around Italian wines. Along with fine wines to sample, he brings many fun and interesting stories from his travels in Italy's wine country.
Mon., May 28, 11-5: Memorial Day Sip & Shop. The shop is open on the holiday, with a little bubbly to enjoy while you browse.
